About Terry

A leader on the field and in the community.

Terry McLaurin is a wide receiver for the Washington Commanders in the NFL, known for his leadership and consistent performance. From a young age, Terry dreamed of playing professionally, excelling at Cathedral High School where he won Indiana’s Mr. Football Award. He continued his success at The Ohio State University, serving as a two-time team captain before being drafted by Washington in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Since then, he has earned multiple captain titles and signed a contract extension in 2022, securing his spot with the team through 2027.

Born in Indianapolis in 1995 to athletic parents, Terry grew up surrounded by sports and competition. Outside of football, he enjoys spending time with his family and dog, golfing, fishing, and exploring fashion. He’s also deeply committed to community service, founding the Terry McLaurin Foundation to support youth and the DC area. In recognition of his efforts, he was named the 2022 NFLPA Community MVP for Week 2.

The Foundation

Founded by NFL Wide Receiver Terry McLaurin.

Founded in 2022, the foundation has made a profound impact in the DMV and beyond. Last year, we opened the first three “Terry’s Lockers” that provide children in low-income schools and community centers withaccess to new laundry facilities to clean their clothes and lockers filled with hygiene items and clothing to ensure that every child has the tools to feel healthy and confident when they come to school. Four more “Terry’s Lockers” are slated to open in 2025.

Also in 2024, Terrylaunchedthe “Terry McLaurin Full-Circle Job Readiness Program” in conjunction with Mobile Hope. This initiative givesyoung men and women who are aging out of the foster care system with support as they prepare to enter the job market. This includes giving them access to professional clothing, haircuts, resume-building support and interview coaching.

In additionto those core initiatives, the foundation also hostsregularoutreach activities like events celebrating back to school, Thanksgiving and the Holidays, as well as the Terry McLaurin Birthday Celebration, providing a large birthday celebration with gifts for foster children who may not otherwise get to celebrate their birthdays.

The Terry McLaurin Foundation seeks to help underserved children become the best version of themselves by providing them with the tools to succeed in the classroom and society. This includes educational and social support, health and wellness assistance and mentorship.
